Situated 75 miles south of Innsbruck, Camping Al Plan is a good quality campsite with 75 serviced  pitches, all of which include piped gas. There is a restaurant open 6 days per week and a free ski bus to the nearby Kronplatz ski area. Camping Al Plan also has apartments, so is ideal for larger groups who need alternatives to camping or expect visitors during their stay. Camping Al Plan is also close to the wider Dolomiti Superski area and the Sella Ronda Circuit with Alta Badia being just 12 miles away and accessible by skibus from Kronplatz. For parties with non skiers, the free skibus takes you to Brunico, which is an attractive town with many shops, restaurants and park areas.

How to get to Camping Al Plan?

There are three options for your journey to Camping Al Plan:

  1. The shortest from Calais at 720 miles is via Luxembourg on the E25, the A13 & A8 in Germany to the A7 and south over the Fernpass (179) for the A12 (vignette of Go Box required) and the Brenner Pass. From there it is a straightforward run using the A22, SS49 & SS244.
  2. Alternatively, at around 760 miles if the Fernpass is closed carry on the A8 to Munich and onto the A93 to the border at Kufstein. From there follow the E45/A12 to the Brenner Pass (some sections toll free again in 2020/21).
  3. For caravans: The better route will be to miss out Luxembourg and head for Koln, and the A3 towards Wurzburg until the A7 which will take you south to the Fernpass and miss out some long tortuous hills. Alternatively stay on the A3 and then A9 past Nuremberg to Munich. From Munich follow A99/A8 to Kufstein and then as above. Mileage on this route are around 765 & 785 miles respectively.

The final 2 miles through St. Vigilio di Marebbe from the SS244 to Catarina Lanz Strasse is through residential and cobbled retail areas. The road is wide enough for a large motorhome or caravan, but care should be taken. The approach to the campsite is level and should not present access issues in all but the heaviest snow.
