Situated 12 miles from Lake Tahoe, 7 miles from Northstar Mountain Resort, and 11 miles from Squaw valley Ski resort, Coachland RV Resort is ideally situated for access to some really great winter sports locations including 200 kms of piste and 150 kms of marked trails, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and winter walking trails. It is a large campsite set in a substantial woodland area with very good facilities, a clubhouse and particularly good facilities for dog owners.
How to get to Coachland RV Resort
From the San Francisco area (200 miles) take Hwy 80 past Sacramento to Truckee. Exit Hwy 80 at junction 89 and join Donner Pass road. At the first roundabout bear left into Pioneer Trail and then right into Coachland Drive. After 50m turn right and then sharp left into Redwood Lane which leads to the campsite entrance on your left after 150m.

Northstar, Squaw Valley and Olympic Ski Areas– What is the skiing like near Coachland RV Resort ?
The nearest ski area is Northstar where there is 97 kms of piste and a further 100kms of ski trail available stretching from 1900m to 2600m. It is very popular with families as the terrain is best suited to beginner and intermediate skiers. It has a great reputation for piste quality, modern lift infrastructure and snowmaking facilities. It is also comparatively expensive to ski there when viewed against other Tahoe resorts.
Squaw Valley including Olympic resort is 11 miles from Coachland, offers 100kms of piste and a further 50 kms of ski trails which rise to 2750m. Whilst there is plenty of piste for beginners and intermediates, Squaw valley is a mecca for experts, especially on powder days when it can get very busy. On the same lift pass is the Alpine meadows ski area which will shortly be lift linked creating one of the largest ski areas in North America.
